Lastly I am obsessed with this new Calacatta Nuvo Caesar Stone…it is amazing!

Are you in the midst of a project? If so feel free to ask me questions.

A neighbor of mine was asking about vanities this morning, she is looking for a reasonably priced 48″ vanity. I told her to look at Signature Hardware and Build.com. Do you have any other suggestions?

Thank you for stopping by.

10 Design Trends I love

I do not consider myself trendy, but I do follow design trends. I am still conservative when using them in my clients homes. I think your home should look timeless, but these trends could be used in any home!

  • 1. Dresser style vanities…it looks so clean! This one is from Restoration Hardware.

  • 2. I love the dining bench trend. I think they offer comfortable seating and they work in almost any setting. You can find these everywhere, the following are from World Market.

  • 3. Painting ceilings is a fun trend in this Pinterest photo they used a dark royal blue in the coffered ceiling…very chic.

  • 4. Using every space in your home, this is an old-fashioned idea that has come back! Below is a closet in an office we used it for extra storage.

  • 5. Fun Rugs are a good way to add color or style to a room. In my home office I have a chevron stripe rug, I know this is a fading trend but I love it!

  • 6. Lighting made of found objects…this is a great trend. Both of these lights came from Etsy.com, the wine barrel & bottle chandelier was used in a wedding, and the mason jars in one of the kitchens we did.

Farmhouse Bathroom Musts

Farmhouse  Bathroom Renovation

bathroombonnie

This bathroom is the master bath in a wonderful antique farmhouse, our goal is to  update the systems without removing the charm. We are combining the current master bath with the master closet to make one larger space. We will be covering up the existing doors and replacing them with one centered pocket door. This will give us the best use of the space.

Our plan includes…

  1. Traditional materials like subway tile, brass, wood, and marble.
  2. Re-using anything we can. I will use both of the existing doors. One will become a pocket door (our new entrance) and one will become the new closet door.
  3. We will use wainscoting either barn-board or panels.
  4. I have added a privacy wall to create a toilet area.
  5. I know frameless showers are modern, but we need to use them to open the room up.
  6. I have also added a glass half wall, between the shower and vanity, to make the space feel larger.
  7. I will design a custom vanity, this will allow us to use every inch of space to the fullest.
  8. I want to add an antique piece of furniture (perhaps a dresser) to the room, This will add history and storage to this new space.

Here are some visuals to help you get the feel for the new space.

1. I love these beveled subway tiles below www.pinterest.com

2. Marble is so beautiful and this house is the perfect place for it! I might suggest something that has tan in it…what do you think?

3. I would like to use a frameless glass shower (like this on I did for another client) with a half wall that ends on the vanity top.

4. This Celia Bedilia vanity has the right feel for the space but we might need to add drawers to the vanity for this project.

5. I would love to see a mirror like this one from www.grandroad.com

or this simple one from http://www.potterybarn.com

6. Lighting will come from my favorite people at www.fogglighting.com

7. This is the kind of antique dresser I would like to use. www.lebarnantiques.com

Finally the floors will be wide pine, we are going to match what is already in the space.
