Angels have always been important to me; they represent love, light, heaven, family, God, and peace. I was drawn to them even as a child. My mom took all five of us to church after church in Rome and Florence. I think those early memories were what make angles and churches resonate with me. Now that I am housebound, I have my pictures, and I travel in my mind back to all of these beautiful places.
Rome and Lisbon are two of my favorite cities. I love looking at these trips and looking forward to my next trip. I am hunkering down now and staying home, but as soon as I get my wings back, I will fly.
I hope you are all well, and sheltering in place with your little angels, mine are not so small but I am enjoying them. Stay safe & healthy, and remember angels are everywhere. XOXOXO
My Gen-Z client asked me to create a monochromatic cozy bedroom for her beach house. I am tired of grey, I still love it but, I was ready for a change. So the many shades of white came to mind, perfect for a beach house. We added a lot of texture into the room with cowhide, a sweater rug, hanging nightstand with a rough wood drawer, and Mohair! The chaise provides a comfortable place to catch up on emails and social media. I LOVE THIS BEDROOM!
It is the best part of the year for me! Wedding planning season, my creative juices are flowing, I wake up at 2am in a dreamy state thinking about my wonderful brides & grooms. This is one of my vision boards, I can totally visualize this couple’s big day!
It makes me so happy to be working on next season’s weddings! I hope you like the feel of these boards, I am inspired by my brides & grooms.
Look at something, someone or a situation in your life from another angle. Perspective is everything! By distancing yourself and looking at things with fresh eyes, you will see things differently. Photographers are masters of perspective.
When I am working, I am looking at design from my client’s point of view. I want to be mindful that my ideas reflect them and not me.
Today I have been looking at tiles; there are a lot of different choices, and I am drawn to many of them. If I am not careful to always keep my concept and client’s in mind, I might influence the outcome with personal preferences.
The tiles I looked at today are the new hot trend…Zellige.
This tile is not new; it was widely used before Subway tile!
This is what I learned authentic Zellige is Moroccan; no two tiles are the same, imperfection is expected, and the finish and color vary a lot.
I think it is beautiful, and one of my clients is interested in using it. I just wanted to get educated, so I took the day to study it.
If you are interested in learning more about Zellige, this article is excellent!!
