Woodland Arrangement

Here is my project for a rainy day in Maine, no flowers but lots of dried items! My inspiration was my beautiful foraged branch.

http://www.celiabedilia.com

I feel so lucky to have a wonderful career. My job is all about enjoying the beauty that surrounds us or creating beautiful spaces or events for my clients.

When we are free to travel again I look forward to bringing my clients to Europe. Travel opens your mind, lifts your spirits, and feeds your soul.

Most of my weddings have been postponed or canceled altogether for 2020, but I am still dreaming about bouquets and tablescapes.

Anything is possible when you believe in yourself and you enjoy your work.

I am using this downtime to take classes, watch YouTube videos on gardening, and read as many articles, books, and blogs about design as I can.

I know some of you are taking Master Classes, learning languages, gardening, cooking, binge-watching Netflix, and working out.

Relaxing Sunday Flower Arranging

I love an excuse to chill out in my studio. It is Sunday, and I finished my gardening just before the sky went black and the rain came. Now, I have an excuse to play in my studio!

Hope you are enjoying your Sunday! How do you like to unwind?

Sell your inspiration to a client through photography

We all know at a restaurant we eat with our eyes first. How many times have you looked at what other diners have ordered and commented on it? “That looks good” or “let’s ask the waitstaff about that”. Well, wedding design is the same; we need to sell our concept with images that excite our clients and explain our vision. Below is my concept for a wedding I am designing in July.

I can’t wait to get started! I think the colors are so pretty and they will pop against the navy patterned tablecloths, shown below!

Hope you like the vision, thankfully my clients did!

Enjoy Summer!!!

Celebrate friends and family don’t sweat the small stuff

Hi guys,

Thanks for dropping by! This weekend I am being entertained and entertaining VIPS from DC and The Bay Area (SFO) in what we referred to as “The City”, but most of you think of as NYC. Unfortunately, my favorite June 2017 couple are in Maine, so I will not see them! This is a floral arrangement from their wedding!

Anyway, having/making time for VIP events no matter what VIP means to you, is important. We need to realize who our VIPS are and cherish the fact that they want to be with us, celebrate us, and cherish our relationships.

We all get caught up in how we are perceived, but it is more important that we spend less time impressing and more time enjoying. I met with one of my favorite families today, they get this concept, they are so lovely and understand that my goal is to make the bride’s dreams come true!

So to all my Brides & Grooms major in the majors, everyone is coming to celebrate your wedding and love, do not stress about things you cannot control! Love you all!

Practice for my August 18th wedding!

By the way the highlight of my day was at the gym this am, working out next to one of my favorite people Susie, and meeting Flip!

Flip I am stopping by to see your garden!

I am so thankful my husband brought me to Maine 18 years ago this April, what a long, strange, wonderful trip it has been!

Thanks for stopping by!

Best,

Celia

London Flower School Floristry Class

I love doing the flowers and decorating for weddings, in my opinion there is nothing more fun than a good wedding.

I have several weddings this summer, and I am always looking for inspiration and an excuse to travel abroad. I have signed up for a profesional floristry class at the London Flower School for the last week of May & beginnning of June. I am planning to go a bit early so I can attend the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. I feel so lucky to have this opportunity, I am truly blessed!

The London Flower School looks like a marvelous program. As a designer, I understand scale, color, and composition, but I know I can learn a great deal from the LFS instructors.

In my last post, I made promises to myself, to learn something new every month, well now I know that in May and June, I will be fulfilling my promise by taking this course. I have also kept my promises to add time for meditation weekly, and to practice patience with myself and others daily.

Thank you for stopping by, I will keep you in the know as I; learn, try, perfect, start and quit activities along this journey of mine. Hope you are well. I would love to hear from anyone of you at anytime, feel free to comment on, or like my posts.

Arrivederla,

Celia

Winter wedding hearkens spring

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of doing a winter wedding, with the addition of spring elements. I wanted to create a natural wonderland. The bride is a very attractive, simple, outdoors type, I wanted to reflect this in my design.

In the foyer, I greeted guests with two orchid displays.

The bridal bouquet was packed with orchids, David Austin roses, seeded eucalyptus, and peacock feathers.

I set the scene for the ceremony space with Quince and Curly Willow branches. I also used two of my antique columns, topped with candles and surrounded by urns filled with lavender & Ivy.

dsc_0094-2dsc_0043dsc_0082dsc_0081

In the cocktail space I used bird & rock vases. I divided the dinner space from the cocktail space with 48″ vases full of grass, reeds, and peacock feathers.

For the dining room, I used french mason jars filled with beautiful fresh flower terrariums and finished with a shelter of reeds. I completed my vision by surrounding the jars with three mini vases, moss and birds nests.

Lastly, I decorated the buffets with urns filled with cascading flowers.

I hope you liked seeing my wedding decor, as much as I enjoy creating it. I adore weddings. I will even travel across the country to do weddings.

Rustic Winter Wedding

I have made a new friend through my gym, and her daughter is getting married in February. Naturally I am helping with the wedding. You know I can’t pass up an event full of details…I live for the little the details.

Here are some of the ideas I am hoping to incorporate into her wedding.

  1. Bird vases, I am obsessed with these I have used them several times and they are magical, and cool! _mg_1160-edit
  2. White, Gray, Purple and Green are the colors we are thinking for the flowers. The bride wanted to incorporate peacock feathers…I can’t wait that will be fun!

3. Herbs and Moss will most definitely be a part of our rustic winter decor. I think herbs bring life to an event.

flanagan_farm67flanagan_farm45-copyflanagan_farm3-copy

4. Since we are using the bird vases, and the peacock feathers why not add nests!

4. You must have mood lighting for a wedding, candles are a must. Mason jars are great candle holders!

_MG_1203.jpg

5. The bride likes the idea of hanging arrangements. We are doing the event at a location that where hanging things might be tough but we could do these in the windows! We can have moss and candles in some of the globes and flowers in the others.

marr_wedding34

6. I am thinking the ceremony space will have these urns filled with flower, curly willow and peacock feathers. Something like the ones I did below.

marr_wedding33

7. The bride and groom would like to incorporate some personal items like a date board that records, first date, proposal and wedding.

8. Lastly the bride wants to incorporate loved ones who have passed away as part of the decor. This is the idea she sent from Pinterest, I was thinking of expanding on this idea by using a long wooden tray filled with green and Spanish moss, pillar candles, mini herbs and nests.

I think this wedding will be spectacular! I promise to take pictures and share them with you.

Traveling feeds my soul and inspires me to create

I just adore the terrace of my rental in Rome, in fact I love it so much I am going back for two weeks in early October. I can’t wait.

This trip to Italy inspired me to create the wedding below.

This is the result of my inspiration!

The lounge area for the wedding was very warm and welcoming, like my terrace in Rome. We used reclaimed wood tables and I arranged hundreds of colorful flowers!

For the ceremony I used herbs to line the aisle and then made a grapevine canopy for them to get married under. I also arranged succulents in beautiful rustic urns. It was such fun to re-imagine my vacation into an event!

I love traveling because there is so much beauty in the world. I walk as much as I can when I travel, because I don’t want to miss anything!

What do you like about traveling? Do you get inspired to incorporate customs, recipes, friends you make, or decor into your life like I do? I would love to hear from you!

Hope you are enjoying summer. I am taking an Italian class to prepare for my trip in October.

Arrivederci e ci vediamo!
